Current Board of DirectorsEdwin Schulhafer, MDPresidentDr. Ed Schulhafer has been on the Pines Care Center Board of Directors since 1994. He has served as president since 2000. He has been a FIPPOA director since 1993. His bayfront house is located at 225 Bay Walk. He and Crayton Robey are the producers of "When Ocean Meets Sky" the fifty year history of Fire Island Pines, a documentary that has been on Logo since 2006. (More Info.) Dr. Schulhafer is an allergist-immunologist at his private practice, Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Center, located in three counties in New Jersey. He also runs a cosmetic medicine practice in the same three locations called Capri Medical Spa. Stephen HayesVice PresidentStephen Hayes has been a director of The Pines Care Center since 2003 and currently serves as the Vice President of the Board. Stephen has served as a director of the Fire Islands Property Owners' Association and is a member of FIPPOA's Life and Property Protection Task Force; Stephen is also a director of the Fire Island Land Trust. Stephen is the Executive Vice President of The Carey Group LLC, a real estate development and government relations specialist firm in New York City. Stephen lives with his partner, Mark Ski, on Teal Walk. James R. CashelTreasurerJim Cashel has been a director of the Pines Care Center since its founding and has been Treasurer for virtually all of that time. He was Community Manager for FIPPOA for 17 years and before that was FIPPOA Treasurer and Membership Chairman. He also served as Postmaster for several years. He was also a volunteer firefighter in the Pines for 20 years and a Fire commissioner for 25 years. Before that, he was VP of a large international advertising agency. He has been a Pines resident since 1961 and a home owner since 1963 on Beachcomber Walk and with his partner Jim Johnson since 1973. Paul A. Teixeira, DrPHSecretaryPaul Teixeira has been a director of the PCC since 2005. He received his Masters and Doctoral degrees in public health from Columbia University. He is currently a National Library of Medicine postdoctoral research fellow in Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University, focusing on public health informatics. He and his partner David Rimple have been residents of the Pines for the past 15 years and in their home on Shore walk since 2007. Juanita Evereteze, MD, MPHDoctor Juanita first arrived on FIP in 1991 and by 1992 she became our first female physician in residence. Dr Evereteze has trained at Harvard internship and Columbia residency in medicine followed by nephrology fellowship at Cornell/NYH. and NIH hypertension fellowship. Dr Evereteze became a member of FIPPOA in 1995 and joined the PCC board in 2005 and retired from her Columbia private practice in 2003 and from resident physician for PCC in 2004. William HaydenWilliam Hayden has been a director of the PCC since 2007. Albert R. LepageAlbert Lepage has been a director of the PCC since 2005. Marilyn S. Levin, RNMarilyn Levin is a founding director and has been serving since 1984. Karen Nicosia, RNKaren Nicosia has been coming to the Pines since 1968 and has been a homeowner since 1987. She is a graduate of Southampton Hospital and has 33 years of critical care nursing experience at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. She is presently working with a neurosurgical practice in Patchogue. She and her husband Larry have five children who grew up and have worked or are still working in the Pines. Emile C. RiendeauEmile Riendeau has been a Director of The Pines Care Center since 1988. Emile served as Secretary of Fire Island Pines Property Owners Association for thirteen years; Treasurer of Fire Island Association for several years; employed as Harbor Master at Fire Island Pines for five years; was Manager of Fire Island Co-ops. Emile lives with his partner, H.R. Nicholson, on Scaup Walk. Demetrious SengosDemetrious Sengos has been a director of the PCC since 2009. List of Past and Present Directors
